Hi Flower Friends!
|
I'm Krystine- mom and obsessive gardener.
Growing is in my blood. My earliest memory of flowers is my Grandmother's rose collection in her front porch garden. She passed when I was 6 but my mom and aunt kept her rose collection going, even after moving hundreds of miles away. They are still growing now, at my aunts house, and I have successfully propagated them so they are now growing in our garden as well. I also remember my Grandpa constantly tending to his fruit trees in his backyard. He built me a tree house in a giant plum tree and I played on it every day as a child. My grandmother on my Dad's side has a mean green thumb as well. Even in her 80s, she is still caring for her garden. |
Whether its growing flowers, or trees, or veggies - it does something for my soul. Its magical to tend to a seed and watch it blossom into a stunning flower. Or to take a cutting from a plant and it grow into an exact clone. It brings me joy to share what I grow with others and that is why I started Blush Blooms Flower Farm.
Blush Blooms = Slow Flowers
Farm to Vase
The majority of the flowers found at grocery stores and most florist shops are imported and grown in South America, Africa and Europe. Slow local flowers means a significantly reduced carbon footprint. It also means your flowers are never sprayed with pesticides to meet USDA custom requirements. Best of all, you’re supporting a small business in YOUR community.
From start to finish, I grow all the flowers I use. Whether its from a seed, corm, etc. They are tended to with love. Then harvested at the perfect stage for you. Since I grow seasonally, fresh blooms are mostly available March through October. I do try to extend the season when possible so please inquire if you have an event out of season so I can see what's available. I also have a great network of other local flower growers that I can reach out to source from.
Additionally, growing seasonally means I can't guarantee specific flower varieties or colors. However, I can most certainly give you the vibe you're going for using a specialized color palette and whimsical textures.
